Brian and Pamela Jourden

Directors of Global Education at Amazing Grace Institute

Brian and Pamela Jourden are passionate global missionaries, outreach pioneers, and founders of Generation Won, a ministry launched in 2007 to reach “the Last, the Least, and the Lost.” With decades of experience across Africa, the U.S., and Europe, they have dedicated their lives to leading others to Christ and helping people discover their God-given purpose.

From church planting in South Central Los Angeles and university outreach at USC, to grassroots missions in Zimbabwe, Ireland, and South Africa, their story is marked by deep compassion for the forgotten and a powerful calling to global transformation. Through Generation Won, they’ve established churches, schools, and feeding programs that have touched thousands of lives—especially children and vulnerable communities.

Married for over 30 years, Brian and Pamela are proud parents to eight children—four biological and four adopted—and several grandchildren. They now joyfully serve as Directors of Global Education at AmazingGraceInstitute.org, bringing their experience, mentorship, and vision to equip the next generation of global changemakers.

At Amazing Grace Institute, our heart is to see every child nourished, educated, and equipped to fulfill their God-given destiny. Since 2011, we have responded to hunger, poverty, and lack of access to education with practical love and strategic action across Zimbabwe and beyond.
🍲 Feeding the Hungry

What began as meals served at our schools has grown into a massive outreach. During the 2020 pandemic, God led us to say yes to everyone who came to us for food. At our peak, we were feeding over 5,000 people daily, never turning anyone away. As the nation began reopening, our spiritual leader Heidi Baker encouraged us to empower families with food supplies to cook on their own. Today, we continue cooking for thousands of students while distributing dry goods to families across our communities.

📚 Primary & Secondary Education

Our first school began in 2012 with 300 children under a mango tree in Balancing Rocks, Epworth—a high-density suburb of Harare. Since then, God has expanded our educational efforts:

  • 3 schools in Binga

  • 2 schools in Rusape

  • New schools underway in Ushingi, Rufaro, Seke, and Chimanimani

  • Teacher training initiatives to equip a new generation of educators

We’ve also begun building schools on our mission farm and in areas impacted by crises like Chimanimani. In 2021, we launched a powerful new chapter—our first school in Pakistan, serving children of indentured families working in brick kilns. Our hope is to educate and ultimately help these children break free from cycles of poverty.

🎓 High School & University Access

Access to secondary education in Zimbabwe is limited—60% of students cannot afford it. In areas like Balancing Rocks, Tandi, and Seke, we’ve introduced GED-level training through our partner, Equalearning, using their innovative “Edubox” technology. This gives students the credentials needed to pursue university education across Africa and beyond.

We also partner with Vision International University to provide accredited higher education for our leaders and older students. This program emphasizes discipleship and is recognized throughout Commonwealth nations.

🏫 Infrastructure & Construction

To sustain growth, we’ve entered a significant season of building:

  • 8-classroom facility completed for Shumba Junior & High School in Balancing Rocks

  • Ongoing construction in Ushingi, Rufaro, Seke, and land search in Chimanimani

  • A beautiful new church and community center built in Balancing Rocks (also housing our crèche and sewing project)

  • Expansion of church sanctuaries in Tandi

🌍 African Education Consortium

Together with our partner Dorian Slingers, we’re forming the African Education Consortium—a network of education-minded leaders across the continent. Our inaugural Zoom gathering brought together participants from eight nations, united in the mission of planting schools and raising young leaders.

🪶 10,000 Arrows Memorial & First Nations Outreach

We also extend our ministry into the Americas, supporting the Navajo Nation and First Nation peoples, and honoring legacy through the 10,000 Arrows Memorial, a project close to our hearts.

🌐 Ministry in Europe

God continues to open doors for outreach throughout Europe, including the United Kingdom, Normandy (France), and Ireland. Each mission reflects our deep desire to see revival, healing, and discipleship flourish across generations and nations.
